Windows 10 isnt bad.

A horror story would be down grading them to Vista or some horror story from the past

That’s some scary shit.

They’ve tried tucking it into ‘critical updates’ now. I accidentally started the process last week, and had to flip off the wifi to insure my life would not be blighted by that stench.

If that didn’t work, I was going for the battery

This stupid OS has become a plague. For laptops, some critical driver won’t work under it after the update like 50% of the time. Now that I’m dealing with IT within my company alone, it’s becoming one of the biggest thorns in my side.

The same updates as previously or is it a new one? I went into the registry and removed that stupid upgrade box that kept popping up.

I had a specific issue, so I ran the updater, and it reported a handful of ‘critical’ updates. In that list was the Windows 10 upgrade. I hit ‘install critical updates’ before I realized what was tucked in there.

I'd rather Windows 10 then Windows 8.

I didn’t think it would be bad, but then just the other day, my laptop started upgrading itself on its own... while I was in the middle of a job application.... which didn’t save itself.

Oh, but no worries! It finished updating two hours later! I checked Oppo, then turned it off to go to visit my uncle in the hospital and get lunch. Another two hours later, I get home and.... it still says it’s shutting down. Leave it alone for 3 more hours, STILL the same thing. Okay... I do a hard shut-down and restart it. Everything seems okay, but I’m pretty certain that something didn’t install correctly. Maybe if it gave me a better warning, I’d let it “upgrade” overnight.

I had auto update turned off and had been successfully avoiding windows 10 until they snuck it into a “totally super important update”. Those tricky fuckers.

I’m telling you all, GWX Control Panel is you new best friend (if you don’t want Win10)

The last update I did on Windows 7 before upgrading to 10 completely fucked me. It somehow wiped my C drive and was trying to boot from my D drive, iirc. I know for a fact the C drive was gone.

Luckily it was just my programs that were gone, instead of my things.

After that, I upgraded to 10. No problems since.

I mean yeah it’s not as bad as the internet would have you believe. But my work laptop was just upgraded to windows 10 and there are a bunch of extremely irritating new issues that weren’t present before >:(

This is hilarious. A friend did this to my incredibly technology inept roomate. He literally can’t even figure out how to use the start menu.

This was in retaliation to writing “honk if you’re horny” on my friends Xterra.

Even attended laptops will get upgraded.

On principle I have nothing against Windows 10. I run it on my desktop and it’s better than 8.1 there. My laptop however had a bunch of manufacturer specific features that stopped working after the thing decided to upgrade itself.
